8. The knurl in the middle of the barbell bar for men is 12cm long.

For IWF standard weightlifting competitions and workouts, the barbell bar has a pair of smooth rings, spaced 92cm apart — to help determine the grip spacing of the grab. For most people it is more appropriate to hold the grab outside that line. Only the smallest level may require the index finger to be held within it, and not so far in that the hand is not completely inside the ring.
